The Polarity Network

This month sees the launch of the International Polarity Educational Alliance an initiative which grew out of discussions on the Polarity Council Group, that was formed in 2000. The Polarity Council is a group of over 30 Polarity Educators from the USA, Canada and Europe who regularly explore all aspects of the future of Polarity.

The International Polarity Education Alliance offers a public listing of trainings worldwide with a focus on "Polarity Education," in its broadest meaning and offers graduates of any Polarity Training programme the opportunity to use the initials IPE or PTP.

These initials recognize the wealth of people who have taken some training in Polarity, maybe as part of massage training, or as short courses for CPD or for personal growth yet have no recognition of the fact that they have undertaken this education. There are also many Polarity practitioners who have elected not to belong to a practitioner association and are therefore not entitled to use the relevant initials associated with those associations, yet they are qualified. The IPEA grants the right to use a set of initials that is not dependant on being a member of any National or International Polarity Therapy Association.

For a fully qualified Polarity Therapist who is trained in all aspects of Polarity Therapy the right to use the initials PTP will be granted. PTP stands for Polarity Therapy Professional. You will receive a diploma to this effect from organisational affiliate "The Polarity Network." This diploma and the usage of the initials is granted in perpetuity and is not dependent on membership of the Polarity Network even though such membership may be valuable for your ongoing practice as well as you personal and professional development.

If you have trained in only some aspects of the Polarity Principles or of the full Polarity Therapy model you can apply for the usage of the initials IPE which stand for International Polarity Education. This option is ideally suited to graduates of all trainings that focus on personal growth through Polarity Principles or just aspects of the Polarity Therapy model such as bodywork or energy exercise.

Application to the IPEA for trainings is currently FREE.
There is a small, one time administration fee of $30/23 euros/£19 for the issuing of initials PTP or IPE with printed certificate.

How to stop the inevitable pendulum swing is the crux of the matter. To those
who say that people get the government they deserve I say "No". Do the people of
Zimbabwe deserve the government that they have, do the Tibetans deserve the
Government that exists there? Do we, in our so called democracies deserve to be
lied to, manipulated, controlled and fed on a diet of false promises? Of course
not.

Power is the issue. Not who has it and who has not, we all have it. How we
choose to wield the power is what is crucial.

'Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.'

Is God therefore corrupt? I think not.

Power is a force, an energy. It is amoral. How we direct that force is a matter
for us alone.

The way to halt the pendulum swing is to stop it in its tracks or conversely to
add energy to it so that the swing to opposition happens at a faster pace. We
all have to embrace our power, step up to the mark, come out of the closet and
admit we are Polarity Therapists and proud of it. We need to be clear about what
we value about Polarity and how we want to see it continue.

Complacency is the enemy, if enemy there is. It is fed by lack of knowledge,
lack of involvement, seeming lack of choice. That way we all become 'lackies'
running around doing as we are told all the time. We are so busy running we
don't take the time to stop to see what is going on under our very noses.

We need to give support to those people and organizations that exhibit the
values that we hold. To those that do not we should withhold our support.
Instead of whingeing on the sidelines we should be stepping up to the mark and
getting involved in the game.

There is a common theme playing out in the global polarity community at present. The members of various associations worldwide and often the teachers too are becoming increasingly dissatisfied with the policies of those associations which are seeking with the best of intentions, to impose more rules and regulations onto the members.

This sad and sorry state of affairs is however nothing more than the playing out of universal energy and has ever been thus. As soon as something is created then the see of its opposite is also created. This is pure Polarity. In every walk of society you have at certain times a move towards freedom, lack of control, egalitarianism; this energy plays out for awhile and grows. At a critical point it then flips into its opposite and there comes about a controlled, authoritarian, hierarchical energy that opposes that freedom.

Again this energy expands to reach a critical point and the inevitable the back lash occurs. The energy changes again.

When Polarity Therapy first started it was taken up by groups of independent free thinkers fired with enthusiasm for a remarkable healing system. Over years this  ' free practice' has been opposed by people wanting to regulate and control our 'freedom to practice'. I hope you can see the irony here.

At the moment in the world there is an increasing expansion of controlling, authoritarian energy. We see it from our Governments, everything from how much liquid we can carry on a plane to what hours of the day we can legally put out our rubbish. This energy is still growing and will continue to do so until a state of fascism forces the energy to flip with the resulting revolutions. It has always been this way. Look at your history books. Why does history keep repeating itself? Because these cycles are inescapable without I surmise a massive shift in consciousness.

So the question for us is, "Is it possible to escape what is a universal law?" Is it possible to come up with a true alternative, as opposed to a polarised opposite? This is the challenge. At best, can we as polarity therapists embrace both? The Polarity Network was set up as an alternative to the restrictive membership rules of associations to be a place where anyone interested in Polarity could continue to learn, support and connect. It is the polarised opposite and it had to be created by someone, after all it's the law!

These are the aspirations of the Polarity Network where Polarity practitioners, students and teachers can come together to share ideals, information and experience for the benefit of all. To that end the Network remains a non partisan, independent one stop resource for the Global Polarity Community.
